Abstract

In this communication we revisit the rigorous solution of the plane wave diffraction from the open perfectly electrically conducting (PEC) spherical shell. The history of this long-standing problem and its solution may be found in [1]. The power of the Method of Analytical Regularization (MAR), employed in obtaining the solution, has been demonstrated for this problem in numerous publications. In particular, the complex eigenvalues of the TE-modes of the PEC spherical shell with a single circular aperture are presented in [2].
