Abstract

In this paper, the Acoustical Wave Propagator (AWP) method is used to predict sound propagation in two dimensional room. The Chebyshev polynomial expansion scheme is applied to approximate the exponential wave propagator and Fast Fourier transform method is used to evaluate the spatial derivatives. The fi-ee field prediction using AWP is compared with exact solutions for accuracy assessment. Various rooms are used to demonstrate the capacity of AWP in modelling transient sound propagation.
