Abstract

To the best of our knowledge we have demonstrated the first all-silicon glass mid-infrared continuous wave holmium doped fiber laser tunable over 55 nm range. Alteration of an output wavelength was achieved by implementation of tunable Fiber Bragg Grating closing the input of laser cavity. As an output reflector a cleaved fiber end was used with a refractive index of ∼4%. The maximum output power of 3.4 W was achieved at 2.1 μm in continuous wave in comparison with previously obtained 2 W [1].
