Abstract

The sheath instability in terms of Rayleigh-Taylor (RT) instability was discussed. When the sheath accelerated in its plasma bound motion a top-heavy equilibrium was observed which caused instability in the sheath. It was concluded that the sheath instability can be explained as RT instability.
