    Abstract

Developments in analytical biotechnology, combined with ready access to DNA sequence databases and bioinformatics have opened up a new field in biology: Proteome studies. Proteome means the Protein complement expressed by a genome in a subcellular fraction, cell, tissue, or organism. This article discusses the new Proteome analytical biotechnology instruments that are revolutionising protein science.
