Abstract

Preliminary results are reported on the observation of the crystallization of n-eicosane (C20H46) from solution in dodecane, using in-situ energy dispersive X-ray diffraction. The observation of powder patterns of n-eicosane crystallising from an initially supersaturated solution demonstrates the applicability of the energy dispersive technique to the "in-situ" study of kinetic phenomena.
