Abstract
We present the detection of a Staphylococcus epidermidis "biofilm " on the outer surface of a breast prosthesis in a patient with recurring capsular contracture. This finding points to the possible etiologic role of bacterial biofilms in periprosthetic contracture and warrants further evaluation.
