Abstract
Bipennatus gen. nov., type species Spathognathodus bipennatus Bischoff & Ziegler 1957, is proposed because it originated from Pandorinellina (rather than Eognathodus) via S. palethorpei Telford; the latter is also referred to Bipennatus. -Author
