Abstract
Detection of partial response continuous phase modulated signals over AWGN and multipath channels is presented. The receiver uses a breadth-first sequential detection algorithm known as the M-algorithm (MA). Compared with the maximum likelihood receiver based on the Viterbi algorithm (VA), a significant reduction in complexity is obtained in the proposed receiver while maintaining good performance.
