Abstract

In this chapter, the penultimate chapter of the Handbook, a summary and synthesis of all that has preceded it is provided. The case is made that there is no Planet B, and all 8 billion of us are in it together. A synthesis table of every chapter, including the contributions they have made, the keywords they have used and the theoretical paradigms, frameworks or perspectives they have adopted, helps us document the learnings provided across the entire Handbook. Many suggestions have been made throughout the book that will be useful for those working in healthcare to reduce their carbon footprint and to strengthen care systems for the benefit of future patients.
