    Abstract

Ex ABC Website (http://www.abc.net.au/rn/airplay/stories/2008/2267059.htm): "Cantata of Fire is an imaginative listening experience which takes us into the compound in Waco, Texas during the 1993 siege as the Branch Davidian believers led by David Koresh prepared for the apocalypse. The persuaders were out in force; the FBI attempting their own conversion of belief with a powerful sonic assault on the compound -- a sound and light show transmitted instantly though the television world, a spectacular with its own media circus". Draws on audio archives, written and audio-visual media commentaries and uses sounds of the sonic assault as a musique concrete form. In form the work lies between radio drama, audio art and music theatre. Duration 30 minutes.
