    Abstract

This paper presents the ceramic assemblage from the Macquarie University excavations of Theban Tomb 148 at Dra Abu el-Nag'a, belonging to the high official Amenemope and dated to the Twentieth Dynasty. The pottery demonstrates the multi-phase nature of the use and re-use of Theban tombs, particularly in the Third Intermediate Period and the Late Period, a pattern repeated elsewhere on the mountain. Despite the fragmentary nature of the material, it was possible to identify ceramics from the burial equipment of the tomb owner and his family, including two rare vessels imported from the southern Levant.
