Abstract

A group of 115 narcotic addicts were administered Rotter's (1966) Locus of Control scale to investigate the effects of treatment in the Odyssey House therapeutic community. Significant changes (towards more internal control) were observed during the three initial stages of treatment. During the final stage however, this trend was reversed. 1980 Australian Psychological Society
