Abstract

Using the concept of virtual permittivity, a closed form dispersion model for a shielded microstrip line is proposed for 0.6 ≤ w/h1 ≤ 10, h2/A1 ≥ 2, 1.05 ≤ εr1 ≤ 20 and f.h ≤ 4.0 GHz·cm. The model has RMS deviation within 1% as compared with that obtained using spectral domain analysis.
