Abstract

This volume has drawn together established ideas and images of early childhood as well as a variety of emergent themes and concepts. The two concepts that have conflated in this volume are simultaneously both well-established and emergent. The notion of ‘Pedagogy’ as a space for teaching and learning has been inherent in teacher education programs since they began, variously defined and sometimes hidden in a space between teaching practice and curriculum, whereas ‘Leadership’ was often something which sat between management and administration. The co-location of these constructs into Pedagogical Leadership which has been evolving over time, creates a contemporary, dynamic and interesting learning space.
