This paper examines what should be the relevant hierarchy of communication skills needed by individuals entering the professions. The approach adopted is to sample personnel in the field of one business profession, that of banking, as to the communication skills individuals need to be trained in prior to entering the workforce. A sample of approximately one hundred practising professionals were surveyed over a one year period. 1984 Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI)
