Abstract
Microinjection of angiotensin II and III into the rostral ventrolateral medulla of anesthetized barodenervated rabbits elicited in both cases pressor responses, which were of similar magnitude and time course. The responses to angiotensin II and III were either unchanged or increased in the presence of compounds which inhibit their degradation to shorter length peptides. The results indicate that both angiotensin peptides are independently capable of eliciting pressor responses in the rostral ventrolteral medulla.
