Abstract
This forms the third of three reviews published in this journal on the Digital Platforms Inquiry conducted by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC). The first examined the genesis of the Inquiry in December 2018, its commencement in the following February and the major submissions received. The second analysed the Inquiry’s Final Report (Report) and recommendations, focusing specifically on reforms to competition law. This present review builds on these prior works to analyse the Government’s response to the Report’s recommendations and plans for implementation. For the earlier articles, see: 'H Raiche and N Selvadurai, “The ACCC’s Digital Platforms Inquiry: Government’s concerns and industry response” (2019) 27 AJCCL 39' and 'H Raiche and N Selvadurai, “The Digital Platforms Inquiry – Final Report: An analysis of the proposed reforms to competition law” (2019) 28 AJCCL 1'.
