Abstract
16 direct life insurance companies have websites, as do two life reinsurers. This paper: * Surveys the content and apparent purpose of these websites. *Introduces the concept of useability. * Analyses the useability of the 16 direct life insurance sites using criteria suggested by Neilson. * Identifies several serious useability problems in these sites.
