Continuous-wave Brillouin laser using bulk diamond

Abstract

We report a novel platform for Brillouin lasers in bulk, based on diamond. Continuous-wave lasing at 532.16-nm is demonstrated in a doubly-resonant ring cavity, from which we deduce a gain coefficient g0 = 60 cm/GW.
