Corporate and private philanthropy in the U. S. A.

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

There are many types of philanthropy in almost every country across the globe, this research focussing on the history and types of charity that are synonymous with the USA. While the generosity of most individuals and organisations is purely for humanitarian reasons, there also exists a cynical view that many donations are made to achieve an outcome that is beneficial to the owner, ether by favourable
publicity or some other type of reward. This research examines the extent and benefits of US philanthropists and the tremendous amounts of money involved and makes comparisons between individual and corporate philanthropy. It Also examines trends for future giving.
