    Abstract

Lesions of the cerebellopontine angle which are truly hypodense on computerised tomography are unusual. These lesions include epidermoids, lipomatous lesions, and arachnoid cysts. Magnetic resonance imaging may help to establish the diagnosis. Acoustic neuromas are rarely hypodense on computerised tomography. Two recent cases of truly hypodense acoustic neuroma are reported.
