Abstract

The research presents a data dense passive chipless RFID Tag for multi-parameter sensing applications as a low-cost solution. The proposed circular tag is designed via approach of dual sided slot embedding. The tag yields 20-bit RCS response while staying in 20mm x 20mm dimensions. The data capacity has been amazingly enhanced compared to previous work. Taconic CER-10-0500 has been used as substrate, whereas copper is deployed as resonator structure on both sides of the substrate. The top layer of the tag yields 14-bits, whereas 6-bits are result of the slots etched at the back side of the tag. The increased data capacity makes the tag suitable for low-cost identification as well as multi-parameter sensing. The battery-free resonator-based highly durable tag is most suitable for multi-parameter analysis in wireless and IoT networks.
