Abstract

Talige diversiteit in het onderwijs is een feit en kan benut worden om het onderwijs te versterken. Daarnaast kan talige diversiteit een rol spelen bij de beoordeling van de leerprestaties, ook wel evaluatie genoemd. Maar hoe kun je goed inschatten wat meertalige leerlingen kunnen of weten als hun minder sterke beheersing van het Nederlands hun competenties misschien (deels) verbergt? In dit hoofdstuk laten we zien hoe je hier in je evaluatiepraktijk rekening mee kunt houden.

Linguistic diversity in education is a reality and can be leveraged to enhance education. In addition, linguistic diversity can play a role in the assessment of learning outcomes, also known as evaluation. But how can you accurately assess what multilingual pupils can do or know if their weaker command of Dutch may (partially) obscure their competencies? In this chapter, we show you how to take this into account in your assessment practice.
