    Abstract

A new method to enhance radiation patterns of resonant cavity antennas (RCAs) is presented in this paper. In this approach the ground plane of the antenna is modified to create a cavity with two different heights, resulting in two close resonant frequencies. Peak directivity and 3 dB directivity bandwidth of the conventional RCA have been increased by 3.3 dB 12%, respectively due to this technique.
