Abstract

This paper presents a new design method of compact Ave poles low pass filter using defected ground structure (DGS). The proposed low pass filter (LPF) is designed for 2.5 GHz cut off frequency having better than - 25 dB rejections up to 3.36fc. It does not have any, discontinuity elements and the repeated high low impedance lines, which are essential for the design of conventional LPF. Only DGS patterns and one capacitive transmission line is used for the design of the proposed LPF filter. The proposed design gives simple structure, small size (55.6% of a conventional LPF), less discontinuities, without high impedance lines, and high power handling capabilities are obtained through the proposed LPF.
