Abstract
The design of a profiled circular horn feed with high aperture efficiency is described. Maximum gain conditions are discussed and a method of optimizing the horn profile is outlined. Measured results are given for a fabricated circular profiled horn designed for operation in Ku-band. An efficiency >95% and sidelobes <20dB are achieved, which are in good agreement with computed results.
