Designing an integrated curriculum platform for engineering education: a hybrid magnetic bearing system

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

A hybrid magnetic bearing system as an integrated platform provides an environment for innovation, verification of the acquired knowledge and applications of the design skills of engineering students and a common link among many subjects in the engineering curriculum of Massey University, New Zealand. The paper has described different components of a hybrid magnetic bearing model which is used as an integrated platform for teaching and learning. The main purpose is to encourage the students to utilize their knowledge learnt through lecture to solve a complex engineering problem.
