Abstract

Studies of the difference in structure and expression of the genes encoding serum amyloid P component in different hamster genera afford unique opportunities to examine the primary structure of SAP monomers and the factors regulating expression of the SAP gene. Accordingly we have isolated and characterized clones for SAP from hepatic cDNA libraries constructed from Syrian and Armenian hamsters.
