Abstract

In this paper a novel printed antenna with dual switchable beams for vehicular communications is presented. The antenna consists of two planar microstrip subarrays, fed by two different ports. Depending on the input ports, the subarray beams are switched to create separate broadside beams or a single endfire beam. In this way a coverage of more than 180° is ensured with a relatively high directivity.
