Abstract
This paper proposes a meta-surface with dual wideband characteristics and circular polarization with high transmission mode efficiency based on an H-type structure for communication applications. The novel H-shape design incorporates a bi-layer asymmetric twisted meta-surface that converts linearly polarized (LP) waves into right-hand and left-hand circularly polarized (RHCP and LHCP) waves at two frequency bands. The simulation results indicate a dual wideband response with a high transmission efficiency of an x-polarized incident wave within the 20-35 GHz range and realize with a high transmission efficiency of circularly polarized waves over the dual-band of 29.35-33.46 GHz and 33.47-34.97 GHz with an optimal axial ratio relative bandwidth of 11.74% and 4.37%, respectively. The cross-polarization conversion analysis has been carried out using the surface current distribution and Bi-Mode Foster equivalent circuit. The simulated results revealed the practical applicability of the designed structure for advanced polarization conversion applications.
