Abstract

The tracer-diffusion of small molecules through dense system of chain polymers within an athermal lattice model was discussed. An approximate mapping of this problem based on dynamic percolation theory (DPT) was proposed. The analysis showed that the proposed method yielded quantitative results for the tracer correlation factor of the molecules as a function of density and chain length, provided the non-Poisson character of the temporal renewals in the disorder configurations was properly taken into account.
