Abstract
A re-edition of a Greek document on an ostrakon, acquired by Sir Charles Nicholson in Egypt in 1856-1857, first published in 1858 and little studied since. The text amounts to a letter of recommendation for a skipper and may be assigned to the far south of Egypt in early Roman times.
