Abstract

Two techniques are compared for contoured beam design for on-board satellite antennas with constraints on both co-polar and cross-polar pattern envelopes. The techniques are based respectively on a penalty function approach and the method of successive projections and are applied to an array-fed single-offset reflector antenna producing a beam covering the south-east region of Australia.
