Abstract

In this paper, ABCD network is proposed to represent electromagnetic band-gap (EBG) structures or partially reflective surfaces (PRSs), leading to an equivalent transmission network (ETN) method that can be applied to accurately characterize Fabry-Perot resonator antennas. The methods to obtain ABCD network parameters of 1D, 2D and 3D EBG structures are given. Two examples are given to show the effectiveness of the proposed ETN method.
