    Abstract

Three smaller lexicons of NT Greek have recently appeared, all introducing etymological material of various kinds. This paper examines the execution and sources in each lexicon and points out serious problems arising from dependence on obsolete works as well as other weaknesses. In conclusion the value of including etymologies in NT lexicons is assessed and the future direction considered.
