Abstract

The SEED Program (Stability, Encompassing, Endurance, Direction), launched by the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District in November 2019, was designed to support healthcare staff through trauma and enhance resilience following the bushfires and the COVID-19 pandemic. Initially a peer support initiative, SEED has evolved into a comprehensive workplace wellness model focused on staff well-being, connection, and gratitude. Now in its fifth year, the program is expanding to other health districts and sectors. A document analysis of SEED reports highlights its strengths, including its staff-led, strengths-based approach. While SEED has been successful in promoting well-being and resilience, future efforts should focus on structured implementation, evaluation, and sustainability to ensure its long-term impact.
