    Abstract

This article focuses specifically on correspondences between the Burushaski laryngeal fricative h and the PIE laryngeals in words deemed to be part of the autochthonous Bur vocabulary, allowing for minimal or no semantic latitude in the comparisons. The analysis looks in detail not only at the fully consistent laryngeal correspondences, but also at the adjacent vowels and the 'coloring' effects on them.
