Abstract
The Victorian State Government has announced that the amount of visiting teacher jobs within the state will be cut. The move, which has been condemned by the Victorian branch of the Australian Education Union, comes at a time of 'historic teacher shortages' and 'will leave vulnerable students behind'. Visiting teachers play an important role in classrooms, providing assistance to students requiring additional support, such as those with autism, physical disability or chronic illness. MCERA has spoken with experts in the field of inclusive education to gather their thoughts on the decision to cut visiting teacher jobs.
