N2 - We present an overview of the "FAIR Guiding Principles for scientific data management and stewardship", first published in 2016, and how they relate to astronomical data management. In particular, we discuss the connection between the FAIR principles and IVOA standards, and how data management systems with these standards implemented are close to compliance. We then look at what extra components are required to make astronomical data FAIR. Finally, we give a case study of the All-Sky Virtual Observatory (Australia's node of the VO) and their implementation of the FAIR principles.
