Feeding strategies for maximising gross margin in pig production

    Abstract

    Nonlinear optimisation and a pig growth model are combined with the traditional use of linear programming to maximise gross margin per pig place per year for the pig producer. Emphasis in this paper is on description of the problem and analysis of the objective function.
