Field correlations and effective two-level atom-cavity systems

The effective two-level behavior of the secod-order correlation functions of the electromagnetic field in atom-cavity systems was analyzed. It was shown that polariton formalism can be used to consider all the properties of the correlations. The two-level behavior was exhibited by EIT-Kerr and the extended Jayenes-Cummings (JC) model. The second order correlation function was established as a good measure of photon blockade.
