Abstract
This publication aims to trace the multiplicity of the author’s encounters with Indonesia and the initiatory passage between the islands of Java, Bali and Sulawesi. Conceived in a hybrid photo-textual format, it condenses impressions, visages, atmospheres and pieces of information on Indonesian culture to ultimately entice its readers with the unusual magnetism of this terraqueous continent-like place. The volume contains an introductory essay by glottologist and Indonesian expert Giulio Soravia and a postface by photographer and journalist Enrico Martino.
