Abstract

A first edition of five private letters on family and business matters, dating between the second and seventh centuries CE. Of particular note are mentions of the management of ousiac land (text no. 2), a petition before the dux in connection with misappropriation of barley imported to an oasis (no. 4) and, possibly, an imperial visit to Egypt (no. 3).
