Abstract

The synthesis and the experimental results of colloidal SDA-free hydroxy-sodalite nanocrystals by transformation of silicalite nanocrystals, are presented. Colloidal silicalite suspension is treated in an alkaline solution in the presence of zeolites and hydroxy-sodalite to form hydroxy-sodalite. the resultant hydroxy-sodalite nanocrystal possess a smaller average size as compares with the starting silicalite nanocrystals. This SDA-free hydroxy-sodalite nanocrystals is expected to be useful for fabricating nanostructured porous materials and nanocomposite membranes.
