Abstract

E-collaboration and collaborative systems bring geographically dispersed teams together, supporting communication, coordination and cooperation (Bafoutsou & Mentzas, 2002). A vital decision for groups to effective collaboration is diagnosing that what is the suitable collaborative tool(s) for them. In this paper we review common collaborative tools that are currently used by groups, then we present a framework that helps groups to easily select suitable collaborative tool(s) based on their collaboration purpose regarding to other criteria such as group characteristics and work characteristics. In this paper the collaborative purpose witch is considered is planning purpose
