Abstract

The growth of ethnic rights activists, Australian commercial radio sector and a greater political commitment played an important role in an emergence of community radio. These community radio programs served a multiplicity of purposes by preserving and expressing the culture of particular ethnic groups and by reflecting generational schisms.
