High-efficiency Raman converter generating 1.5W of red-orange output

Abstract

We report record Stokes conversion efficiency and output power for a nanosecond pumped Raman laser. Using KGd(WO₄)₂ in an external cavity Raman laser configuration, we obtained 64% conversion efficiency of a 2.3W 532nm pump laser.
