Abstract
A new facility for X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction studies of samples held inside diamond anvil cells has been constructed on station 9.3 of the Daresbury Synchrotron Radiation Source. The facility consists of a curved crystal monochromator, cell alignment stage, image plate holder and Energy-Dispersive X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy detector. This facility has been used to study the effect of pressure on amorphous GaSb. Some of the data collected as part of this program are presented in order to illustrate the use of the facility.
