Abstract
The article presents banking research on mortgage loan practices by banks in New Zealand in 2012 in the aftermath of the Global Financial Crisis. A survey of banks and mortgage brokers is discussed in which their lending practices were assessed in terms of social responsibility. Findings of the survey that mortgage lending to home buyers is generally conducted in a transparent manner with adequate consumer protection are considered.
